What’s in the Bible: Wanderin’ in the Desert DVD Review

List Price:  14.99
ISBN:  978-1-4143-3632-9
Release:  May 2010

From the publisher:
Buck Denver and friends journey through Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy to finish out the Pentateuch in the 3rd DVD from What’s in the Bible?
Wanderin’ in the Desert contains two 25-minute episodes.
Part 1: Don’t lie, don’t cheat … don’t trim your beard? The Old Testament is full of rules, and some of them are kind of, well, weird. Learn why God gave all these rules to Israel and which ones still apply to us today!
Part 2: What is a Pentateuch? Learn about Israel’s 40-year “time-out” as we finish the first five books of the Bible! Plus, discover why we can believe what the Bible says – even though we weren’t there to see it happen!
My Review:
“Mom!  Can we watch a movie?”
How many times do you hear this on a daily basis?  In our house, it is at least once a day in our home!
This is one video series – we could watch over and over and never quit learning.
Even as adults – we have so many theology Bible questions.
For example:  What is the difference between ceremonial law and moral law?  (I.e. telling a lie and eating pork.)
I know this DVD is meant mostly for kids but I can’t even begin to tell you how much my hubs and I have gleaned from it.  We just love listening to the DVD while driving in the car.
This series is an awesome resource for home school and young Christians.  (It is even great review for “old” Christians.)    The history of the Pentateuch is explained in such a way that is down to earth and with reason.  I would have never even had attempted to teach this in my school – I truly will use this for years to come.
Of course, it is infused with humor, quacky songs and cute characters.   My kids loved Buck Denver!  My fave is the Sunday School Teacher!

Blessings to you!  You are loved!
