Spring Ideas

March 14, 2016 Lana Leave a Comment

Spring is not my favorite season.

In Texas, it means tornadoes, pollen, and humidity. My hair grows 4 inches higher than normal.

Already, I have had pneumonia and can’t quit sneezing.  I should really buy stock in Kleenex.

BUT, I love seeing all the flowers blooming, the warm sunshine and the birds migrating back up here from wherever they go during the cold months.

So during my “down” time – I have been on Pinterest creating some awesome Spring and Easter Ideas!
Follow Lana {Loving5Kids}’s board Spring & Easter Decor Inspiration plus Food & Games on Pinterest.

This year we are having Easter Celebration with my extended family at my house!  Hopefully I will have time to make my kids some meaningful Easter Baskets.

Have I mentioned, I don’t even know where ANY of my Spring decor would be hiding?   I’m not a Spring Decor Girl.  I love Fall and Winter. My house is in serious depression during the spring and summer months.  It lacks life except for all these DIY projects.

During the Spring and Summer, I’m lucky to be inside the house unless it is painting walls or some #LakeLiving5Kids projects.  Or fishing.

I love to fish with my sweet hubby and kids.  They don’t even have to be my own kids.  😉 Any kids that will bait my hook and take my fish off, will be invited to go with me.  🙂  I’m hoping to “grow up” soon and will be able to bait my own hook but these fabulous people whom I live with keep spoiling me.  I love these peeps!

Did I mention I love to be outside during the Spring even though the pollen hates me?  And the fish are biting!

This week is Spring Break at our house.

So I have made some Spring Ideas for our home…and my boys.

(My girls are away visiting friends and family.)

  1. Clean out behind washing machine and dryer.
  2. Clean out behind fridge.
  3. Paint a few projects including a wall in my living room and a sewing machine table.
  4. Plant a garden.
  5. Clean carpets.
  6. Make Easter Centerpieces.
  7. Make a Spring Wreath for the front door.
  8. Clean Ceiling Fans.
  9. Wash cars daily to remove Green Pollen.
  10. Dust every piece of furniture in home. Again.
  11. Go through every closet and get rid of old clothes in time for the CCC Sale.  (I did this last year and made some sweet and easy money for some summer camps.)
  12. Clean and organize our garage as if we are moving.  Because then everything will be truly organized.
  13. Finish and clean up my podcasts on my phone.
  14. Clean up my photos on my phone.
  15. Work on Scholarships and College Prep.
  16. Make a Price List of all my Grocery Items from every store we shop.

Plus I’ve decided to work on some of our bucket lists…

  • Ride along with a policeman.  If you know me, you know I love a little adventure.  A policeman friend of ours has agreed to take me on his shift so I can experience being a policeman for a day.  Seriously, the kid in me is jumping for joy.  He also will call me JB Fletcher because I love a good mystery.  (You get bonus points if you can name that show!)
  • Take my son to visit Texas A & M’s campus.
  • Go for a long hike.
  • Go to HEB and buy 1905 Vanilla ice cream for my boys (the BEST ice cream in the WORLD.)
  • Encourage my sons to grow in wisdom.

I pray you have an awesome week!

Blessings to you!  You are loved!
