Mom goes away – Dad Does Remodel

October 6, 2008 Lana

The project that started our entire House Remodel.

Okay, I went to Dallas for four days and three nights for a MOPs Convention. I leave no Honey Do’s just love notes. I figure my husband has his own plate full with 5 kids who have their own agendas for him, i.e. parties, eating, taking baths, etc…

So… you can imagine what really goes on when Daddy is left to himself with 5 kiddos. Yep, you guessed it, a wall came tumbling down. We have been remodeling our home since we bought it. The past owners enclosed the patio to make a game room. We took the game room and split it to make a office. Then we wanted to make a door from our bedroom to our office. My hubby decided to do this while mommy was in Dallas. How sweet!

The Before

The Beginning

Partners in Crime

Then they started on the master bedroom.

Boys with saws scare me. They now know how to use them.

The glass shattered. (This was not supposed to happen.)

The unprepared mess. No one was injured. 🙂The Doorway is open for pretty french doors plus the hard workers. The completed look on the bedroom side. I can’t wait to find pretty french doors.

I love that my husband is so thoughtful to include the children with this daunting task. (Is that another way of child labor?) I don’t know how he did it. Plus, all the laundry was clean, put away, and no one look like they starved. They truly did tear up the house but it sure is sweet that they cleaned up all the evidence.

Blessings to you!  You are loved!

Wow, that took some guts to start tearing down a wall. I am impressed.
