Okay, I’m in curricula planning mode! I’d rather be at the dentist. To me, this is the worse part of homeschooling. I have used one particular curriculum for my children however it is not the easiest to use with multiple children because of it’s design. So, I’m on to the never ending search.
Today, I uncovered my “vision” and trying to keep it on top of my frustrations. It is in a frame by my computer.
I “tweaked” my Vision from Debra Bell, author of “The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling.” I don’t know what I would do without this book. I have also seen her speak and one word summarizes her, excellence.
Okay, now for the “Vision” aka “Targets we aiming to hit while our children are under our care.”
- We want our children to accurately understand the Christian faith and enjoy a vital relationship with the Lord Jesus.
- We want our children to articulate with integrity the Christian faith to a lost and dying world in a way that is culturally relevant and persuasive.
- We want our children to love to learn.
- We want our children to have a marketable set of skills.
Eventually, we might add more but for now this seems to work for us.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.
