In the Garden…(update)

May 24, 2011 Lana

It has been a while since I have updated our garden.  It has grown leaps and bounds!  Sunflower GardenJune 1st is coming.
That means hurricane season.
Last time I had a sunflower garden, a hurricane tore it down.
We need the rain but I don’t want the high winds!Melon Garden
Our melon garden.
I think we planted watermelons and honey melon.  Not really sure.  It will be a surprise!
Green Bean Tepee
The Green Bean Tepees are awesome looking!
The kids keep picking the green beans – not many but truly a display of coolness.
Squash, Zucchini, Okra and Tomato Garden
Squash, Zucchini, Okra and Tomato Garden.
We keep having a problem with a fungus.  I’ve used some organic stuff the local nursery sold us and chamomile tea mixture.  The tea actually worked for a day or two.   The fungus just comes so fast – can’t keep up with it.
Pepper, Jalapeno, Tomatillo, Tomato Garden
This is our Pepper, Jalapeno, Tomatillo, Tomato Garden.
The fungus has spread to the Tomatillos.  They are neat little plants.  The tomatillos look like hot air balloons.
Cucumbers
Our Cuke Garden (Cucumbers)
They are doing great.
Something is on the leaves but doesn’t seem to be hurting the actual veggie.
My girls love picking and eating these!
Cucumber
Isn’t she pretty?
These are growing so FAST!
I need cucumber recipes – if you have one please leave a link!
If I love it – I’d love to feature the recipe!
The Corn Box!
The Corn Box!
I’m scared to check it.  I want them to be so good!
Last time we planted corn, it looked good but it had no kernels.
I can’t wait to grill these on the grill.  YUMMY!  We will probably check to see if they are ready tomorrow…
Thanks so much for coming to ilovemy5kids.  We are so appreciative of all the readers.  I’m blessed so much when someone says or emails me that they read my blog.  I get all embarrassed inside and feel so humbled.  I pray that it will be an avenue for God to truly use to His Glory and encourages someone daily!
Blessings to you!  You are so loved!
