A few weeks ago, my husband and son were in the kitchen.
This was their conversation.
Son: “Hey Dad!”
Dad: “Yes?”
Son: “Did you know that the honey badger and the honey guide have a symbiotic relationship?”
Dad: “What?!?”
Son: “Did you know that the honey badger and the honey guide have a symbiotic relationship?”
Dad: “I heard what you said – but WHAT?!?”
Son: “The honey badger counts on the honey guide to lead the him to the honey and that way both count on each other.”
Dad: “Oh really??”
Son: “Yep.”
Dad: “Okay.”
My hubby then comes into my room and asks me if I know what a symbiotic relationship is?
Me: “Of course!”
(After I Google it. Love my iphone! We have a Symbiotic Relationship!)
Our son’s favorite website is PBS KIDS and on it has a Wild Kratts. I’m thankful for this program. Our lil’ guy has a love for animals and wants to be a veterinarian. They use words that I wouldn’t have dreamed giving my 5 year old. Yet, he understands them and explains them to his parents. LOL! Thus the symbiotic relationship.
One of the resources we like is called World of Animals. It actually explains symbiosis (page 127). It is a relationship in which both partners gain. Yep me and the iphone. It gives me information and I charge it.
The pictures in this book are awesome! This resource goes great with My Father’s World curriculum and is something I just keep handy for my kids when they have a question about animals.
I also like that the book has little tidbits of trivia posted on every couple of pages. It is just full of fun information for little boys who like animals or teachers that love teaching.
It has a great index for those who look for a subject, i.e. symbiosis.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
