Big Bend, Texas
[wpsr_pinterest]
This past Saturday, my family and I went on a very long drive.
We drove to Big Bend. If you are not from Texas – Big Bend is the west part of the state that looks like the bottom part of an earlobe. It is a desert and yet it has the largest mountains in Texas in it.
It is simply beautiful! I took over 200 photos. (Don’t worry – they are not all on this post.)
Everywhere I turned was an opportunity to take another picture.
One of our favorite times was when we came upon these animals. We did quite a few u-turns to get these shots. I need a bumper sticker that says “Caution: Will brake unexpectedly and then shoot. Lady has camera on board and is not afraid to use it.”
I posted these photos on facebook and a couple of friends told me they were bull elk. I had no idea. I loved how the male was very protective of his ladies.

God’s creation simply makes me smile.
By the way, this is the first time I ever shot an elk. (wink wink)
Blessings to you! You are loved!
Disclosure: No animal was hurt in this photo shoot. They were not actors or stuffed animals. They also would love to have a bulletproof jackets from September to January.
