I love Bibles. Something about having so much truth and history at my fingertips makes me smile.
But, a lot of Children’s Bibles makes me cringe. Maybe it is the boring cartoon photos or the lack of depth from the inserts. So when I saw this Bible, I was not really expecting too much.
I was wrong.
As soon as I went to the beginning of Genesis, I knew this Bible was different.
At the beginning of each book, it explains where Jesus is in each book. That alone was worth buying the book for a new Christian or an older Christian who just needs encouragement.
Plus, it lists who wrote each book, when and what the book is about.
Another couple of features are a simplified family tree of Jesus and a timeline of Jesus’ life.
It just lists tons of trivia about Jesus. I’m loving it seriously. I have not seen another Bible like this one.
It is NIV (not my fave) – which I can overlook because when we study, we usually go back to the Hebrew or Greek anyway when we do an in depth study.
I wish it was leather bound but I only found that it came in hardback.
It does have a list of devotions but it doesn’t look very user friendly. I wouldn’t want my child to write a check mark in the back when he or she was done, so they could only do it once. It looks a little confusing.
I love love love that it has an index of Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Christ. When I was a kid I always wondered why Jesus was so special? This would answer questions like that.
Overall, I can’t recommend this Bible enough. It would make an excellent Easter present or children’s Bible.
