I just looked at the calendar and realized how short of time we have in this place we have called home for the last decade.
We have 12 days till we close and the new owners can move in.
12!
We have raised our babies in this home.
They have learned how to walk here, how to use the potty, how to say Mommy or Daddy, how to read their first book, how to write their first letter, how to ride their bike without training wheels, how to tile, how to paint, how to use a saw, how to make scones, how to type, how to resolve a conflict, and how to love and be loved unconditionally.
Not to mention all the friends and precious precious neighbors.
A sweet neighbor came over the other day and just the tears started flowing. She is a retired teacher and just fell in love with my children. I love that my children have been a blessing to so many other than their family all these years.
Children are such a blessing, even on those hard days.
My husband and I have also grown up in this house.
We have learned how to depend each other as a couple. We have become sufficient on the Lord like no other time in our lives. We didn’t have any family nearby. We didn’t have as many date nights as other young couples. Lately, that has changed. We have been able to take strolls after dinner and not talk about anything but fun subjects…i.e. not budgets, problems, major decisions or work.
I feel that our marriage has thrived in this home. So very grateful for being able to rely on each other. We pray blessings on those who will reside here after us. May it always be a home full of grace, love and joy.
And then to the packing…
Thankfully, we have already packed most of the home before we started to show the home. The rest is pretty simple, I hope. I have been quite organized thus far but we will have the true test when I need to find my curriculum in the fall.
And then the friends…
Right now, we have 8 kids at our home. I couldn’t say no to my kids who wanted their friends over – all week. I’m sure when life is chaotic – add friends and then at least it is friendly chaotic.
We know this move is going to be worth it.
Our new home – is amazing or at least will be after my husband is finished with it. It will be our retirement home unless God moves us later.
Can’t wait to sharing about our new venture soon.
If you need me, I will be packing boxes.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
