This weekend! I love a good rainy day weekend!
It means being engrossed in a good book covered with a warm soft blanket.
My friend, sent me a book by Jen Hatmaker,
called For the Love: Fighting for Grace in a World of Impossible Standards.
So thankful! I wish I could say I sat and read it all day Saturday. But, that is not the case. In usual fashion, I decided to tackle a major project that involved the entire the family.
BILLS! AND OFFICE Organization. Years of not being organized…we had to get our act together. And we had a blast doing it. We cranked up Pandora and tackled the files with full force! It is still not completely finished but we made headway. My hubby and I thrive when we are organized. My hubby even changed our electricity to a lower rate and shopped for car insurance. It save us almost $200. a month or so. I can’t tell you how much better this made our lives. Just for the sake of being organized.
Again, thankful.
On Sunday, we went to church. It is a little church. We went from a huge church to a very tiny one when we moved here. It is a learning curve for me. I miss ladies ministry. And ladies Bible studies. And our church pool. I used to think church pools were such a waste. But, thankfully God changed my mind. That pool was such a blessing. I had so many conversations with moms who encouraged me while their kids played under the eye of a watchful lifeguard. I love other ladies so much! This tiny church is very missionary oriented, which I love. They are not in a huge religion organization but do have a huge heart. My hubby and I know this is where God would have us.
That feeling is so sweet!
Another reason to be thankful.
Then the BEST part of the weekend happened. My hubby and I went shopping after church. Not a little grocery shopping. BUT, major shopping. We hit 5 stores. Just me and him! Quality time is my love language! I was on cloud nine. I think my hubby had fun too!
Not to mention, we got organized. This might really be my true love language. And traveling. I love to travel. Ok, back to organization.
I made a Trim Healthy Mama menu for this entire week. After hours of shopping, we bought some bins. Each bin represents a day. All menu ingredients are separated by day into each bin. Simple! Plus, the kids can cook each meal that is planned.
I have copied all the recipes to 3 x 5 cards with the page number so I can find it in the book if needed. The cards make it easier for me to see and my book won’t get ruined. My smoothie page has chocolate all over it before I decided to do this. This Mom loves her chocolate.
I will be posting more about the THM in the future. And how this is working for me.
What a sweet weekend!
Blessings to you! You are loved!
