It’s Christmas Eve! (Corrected Version – sorry the flu got my keys.)

December 24, 2008 Lana

I’ve been thinking about Mary, Jesus’ mother. I can just imagine how Mary felt being big and pregnant riding on a donkey up and down hills. I have been with child five times and the ninth month is not a picnic. Plus, to have to find a room in a strange town adds more stress. I would have been so frustrated. Maybe, it was because of the miraculous star that they had been following that kept tempers from rising or just maybe it was exhaustion. Who…

Easy Sandwiches for traveling

December 10, 2008 Lana

We just got back from a LONG trip in the car. Sometimes it was easier to just eat in the car then to stop and eat. Besides, I do anything to pass miles and keep the crew busy. I received this recipe from a dear friend of mine, Selina. Thanks so much! This is really so simple and delicious. My step-dad is Type II diabetic and he used it for his late night snack. Scenario 2: Let’s start when a person is 27 years old. They put $2000 per year in the account. They do that until age 65 (39 years) also 12% interest. They retire at age 65 with $1,532,166 ($78,000 invested). Difference is $756,830. (This info is in the Dave Ramsey Fi…

God’s little gift to me

October 13, 2008 Lana

…e, I planted the bulb in early spring. The leaves came up but no flower. I just left the leaves, hoping it would bloom next spring. All the other flowers bloomed perfectly. But, this one was on it’s own schedule. I feel that there is a great lesson in this. Proverbs 12:21, Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. This flower was originally in my spring landscaping plan but the Lord’s purpose for it was to bl…
