DIY Kitchen Remodel (Part 19)

July 7, 2010 Lana

Wowsers!  I can’t believe we are still in the kitchen and it is hot!  I WANT out!  But, we must continue because we have to eat and all…
To really appreciate this post – you might want to refresh on our progress.  By the way, we are doing EVERYTHING ourselves (except the granite) but that is yet to come!

IMG_4047 Bottom cabinets are gone….IMG_4048 Completely gone!IMG_4049 Sink is gone…IMG_4050 A lil’ paint to get the right feel.IMG_4051 Our new mess in the kitchen.IMG_4052 Dad’s helper!IMG_4053He’s a good lil’ helper and keeps great conversation.  IMG_4055 Top cabinets.  They do not fit so they are coming down.IMG_4056 Ever wonder what is behind your cabinets?  Yeah, I really don’t want to know either.IMG_4057 Still unpacking the cabinets.  All the “stuff” is now in my guest room.  I had to find the salt the other day…it was literally like looking for a needle in a haystack.IMG_4058 Hubs has been working his little behind off.IMG_4060 Lil’ helper taking a break.  It is hard to find good child labor these days.IMG_4061 My hubs “Lazy Susan” and new BFF!IMG_4062 She and I are going to be really tight.IMG_4063 Here is her sister.  She holds lots of my secrets.IMG_4064What the princess does while Dad is working in the kitchen…fashion shows! IMG_4065 I turn around for one minute and come back in…he has removed all the cabinets.IMG_4066 Wow!  It was weird looking!  IMG_4069 This is where my HUGE kitchen sink is going…I’m actually looking forward to washing dishes in the kitchen and not in the bathroom.IMG_4070 Mr. Ladder had to get a cast on one of his legs.  Can you see it?   IMG_4072 This is my all-time fave kitchen tool.  Our beloved shop-vac!  He keeps the dust down!  LURVE it!
Blessings to you!  You are loved!

That’s a lot of hard work already! We’re hoping to do a kitchen remodel next spring. You encourage me with your 5 kids and DIY attitude that we can do it too–with only 2 kids! Found your blog thru Frugalicious Friday. 🙂

I’m hanging in there with ya! It takes me back a couple of years when we did this to our kitchen. And to encourage you, I’m still alive and we’re still happily married. 🙂 You’ll have that salt in its proper place before you know it! Lisa~
