How to install granite – Hire someone!

November 12, 2010 Lana

I was looking through some old pictures and realized I hadn’t posted about the granite being installed.
How to install Granite
We have done everything ourselves in our kitchen remodel except installing the granite.
Thankfully, we know know a guy!
Naked counters The naked counters.  How I did not like the wood…it made rolling biscuits very hard.  (wink!)IMG_4442 - Copy - Copy The bare sink…or place will the sink will go.IMG_4443 - Copy - Copy The utensils….IMG_4444 - Copy (2) We had to brace the counter….I cut the wood.  I feel so grown-up using a miter-saw.IMG_4445 Our first piece… IMG_4446 So pretty and very neutral!  I love neutral!!!IMG_4447 Our beloved sink…IMG_4448 My very tired hubs…and our sweet granite man – J. Working hard...
J and my hubs worked well together…
They gave me granite!  I’m in love with it!!!
Happy Sink My precious precious sink!  (Read more about this sink here!) How I likey!Granite Island
My precious island!
Happy! We love our bar area….can’t wait to put up the backsplash!  Living in an remodel with 5 kids is no easy task…it makes decorating very hard!True happiness
Don’t look at the brown bananas…they are really not there.
They are now banana bread…the yummiest banana bread ever!
Look at the chess game on the pretty granite.
It makes me happy!!!
So if you want to know how to install granite – hire someone! (wink!)
Go see more of our Home Remodel –
it is more fun to see it, than live it!  {smile}
Blessings to you!  You are loved!!!

My husband used to work with his father who is a contractor, so he technically knows how to do all of these types of projects…finding the time to actually accomplish them, that is another thing entirely! I am going to pass on your idea of hiring someone 😀

Lol! We might need to “borrow” your husband! Although, for our newest kitchen (#DIYplus5) we are seriously looking a concrete counter tops. AND my husband thinks we can do them without hiring someone…shiver. 😉

That must have been a huge undertaking, but it turned out beautifully! We’ve done several home improvement projects, but we haven’t tackled granite yet.

I loved this granite! It instantly transformed the entire kitchen, worth every penny.

I feel the excitement coming through the screen! Honestly – I feel like crying a yippee!! The counters (we call them worktops!) look wonderful. Oh, how you must be itching to get working in that kitchen once it’s all done.
Keep us posted on progress. I’ve kinda been through it all, so I’m with you all the way
    Love, Anne x

Worktops is the truth! I used those counters more than anywhere else in the house!
      Thank you!

May the LORD bless you and keep you; May the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May He turn His face toward you and give you peace. Feel free to leave a comment - we LOVE to hear your thoughts! ~Blessings to you!~ ~You are so loved!~ ~Lana (Like Banana)~
