We are boring DIY people

March 16, 2015 Lana

We have been very boring people lately.

Boring.

Bored.

Ha!  I just wanted to write those words (bore – see I can’t stop) to see how they felt.

Some days, opposite days are in order.

Like having breakfast for dinner.

Or sleeping in clothes and going to work with your jammies on.

By the way, have you have seen Pajama Jeans?  A friend of ours brought them over when they spent the night and I really thought they were jeans.  The rips even looked real.  I need a pair.  Or 7.

We have been so “boring” lately, I now have a bedroom!

All the angels in Heaven – are singing in unison…Hallelujah!

I really love our new windows – #sunsets are the main reason we chose them. #diyPlus5

Yes, our #DIYplus5 has been going on like crazy through the rain, sleet and lack of sunshine.  It has been an interesting 18 or so days.  My hubby has been working his little fingers to the bone.  He taught our boys electricity, sheetrock, raising the roof (dancing and the real ceiling), framing in walls, framing windows, installing windows…etc… It has been amazing.  I will post photos soon.  Be sure to follow on Instagram for daily photos.  Use the hashtag #DIYplus5 for the progress.

Before our working vacay started, my kids gave me the flu.  I love my kids.  They are so giving.  (Read that last sentence with mucho sarcasm.)  I do love them…but they could have kept their flu to themselves.  Next time, I will make them sign papers stating such because if they sign papers then they HAVE to follow through, right?  Ha!  Every mother’s wish.

Then I had a ruptured cyst.  Ouch!  My hubby was so kind.  He took off from the DIY to take me to the hospital and sat in the waiting room as I waited for a sonogram with a very full bladder and the giggles.  Not a good combo.  My dear sweet doctor gave me medicine and told me to take it easy. My kids during the entire DIY made me breakfast, lunch and dinner for days on end.  It was wonderful to be cared for by those sweet kids.  My daughters even continued to make recipes that were healthy from the book Trim Healthy Mama.

After a few days of resting, our company made it in for their Spring Break.  My energy doubled with having 10 kids.

My heart is so complete at the moment. 10 kids for Spring Break! Cousins and best friends.

I loved every minute of their company!  We had a blast just lounging around and watching documentaries while it was cold and rainy outside.

I can’t wait till they come again!

After they left, my sister in law and brother showed up.  Again, I was so glad to have company.  But, they left way too soon.

As soon as they left, I took a 3 hour nap and then cut my hubby’s hair around midnight.  I AM a night owl.  haha!

He looks like a new man.  I love being able to cut my boys’ hair.

I found the most simple How To Video on YouTube for cutting men’s hair.

It was so simple.  He didn’t even have to wear a hat.  😉  I had quit cutting my boys’ hair years ago after an incident in 100 degree heat and being pregnant.  I don’t like being hot and on my feet.  😉

Okay, that pretty much sums up our vacation.  I will write more and post photos soon.

Blessings to you!  You are loved!

Oh, I don’t know how I could have managed those weeks without those sweet kids. They gave conversation and great food. Blessed my heart!
