Words and Actions can hurt and inspire!

June 7, 2012 Lana

…hair trimmed. Backtrack just a moment: We live in an area where Spanish is just as dominate as the English language, if not more so. I’ve picked up quite a few words. But, body language is still the most precise language of all. I should have been a Private Investigator. Seriously, I read body language and can listen to many conversations at once. I contribute to having 5 children and homeschooling. I HAVE to listen or someone might miss something…

Applying God's Word:In REAL LIFE

Once upon a time…there was a real fairy tale.

November 3, 2011 Lana

…sweet answer that I didn’t even have to ask. I will not teach my children just the books of the Bible to learn them so they can find something faster than their neighbor – but I want them to learn them because I want them to know the Author of those Words. I want them to experience the Word of God for themselves and not just be branded as a “Christian” because he/she is a homeschooler or attends a certain church. One of the books, I received rece…

Even a trip to the gas station (Buc-ee’s) can be a blessing!

August 1, 2011 Lana

…as such a blessing!!!! My brother and one of my nephews were also there. I just love them to pieces! Sometimes it is so hard to live so far from family. But, God has a purpose for everything! If you haven’t been to Buc-ee’s – then you are missing out. I wish ALL gas stations were this cool! It has the CLEANES…

Blessings, Traveling Tales

A controversial theory all wrapped up in one novel!

August 21, 2011 Lana

…ieve that God created ALL for His Glory. However, I didn’t like the way it just popped out of nowhere and seemed to preach to me. I just think it could have been a little less abrasive and in a way that was uninterrupted from the story. But, some people have never heard about the Creator and it did explain about Creationism and the rebuttal of evolution with precision and without boredom. So, that being said – I would still recommend this book ove…

Phineas and Ferb, a Homeschooling Idea and TAKE THAT FLY!

August 9, 2011 Lana

…are at different levels. They also THINK differently. I expected my girls just to make their fly-swatter pretty. My boys were a little more militaristic in their thinking. Plus, they are older and I expect more. I wanted diagrams. I wanted labels. I wanted the fly to disappear. I was not disappointed. My girls made the prettiest fly swatters. Flowers, pretty colors, and instant fly be gone buttons. The boys created guns (like this one ) with fly-…
