After a week at working on Grandma’s Cottage, I’m determined to get some things done around here.
A DIY vacation can put things in perspective for you.

Like food. My family likes to eat!
Having a menu helps any Mom stay organized plus my kids never tire of being “hungry.”
My goal is to clean out my refrigerator and freezer the start over. I want to fill it up with freezer meals. I love cooking in batches then freezing it so all we have to do is go to the freezer and thaw out something yummy.
A long time ago, we did a cooking day for just freezer meals. It was simple and actually kind of fun. It did take a prep day, a grocery shopping day and then the actually cooking day. But, we were set for a couple of months of food. Who doesn’t love having to cook every single night?
The next thing I want to focus on is my writing.
I love chatting with people. I love listening to old stories. I just love people who have stories. My blog is a tool that I have had the honor of learning about people and hearing stories. Sometimes I forget to blog about things. (Call me old – I blame the kids for being hungry or wanting clean clothes.)
I want to do better – sharing these stories. People are a gift. You are a gift! I have tons of stories that I have been a part of these past couple of years (and even photos), I can wait to share them.
One of my most favorite stories is about my Uncle Alphons, an honorable man, who gave his life protecting others. Because of this blog, I was able to see where he was buried, where he died and another blogger was able to share her side of the story as well. Here is his Story.
The next thing is our DIY life.
My hubby and I have a garage filled up with “extra income” – meaning unfinished or used furniture. We want to redo it and make it sparkle with goodness then sell it to help with future college funds for our kids. We pick up used furniture everywhere and I can’t wait to show you some “improvements.”
I’m still writing for The Happy Housewife and doing little DIYs over there too.
So, these are just a few things, I want to start doing.
The Fall Season always gives me a new perspective. Something about the cooler air, I just love it. I mean today, it is going to be in the lower 90’s. Woohoo!
Oh my, I still don’t have my Fall Village out…it usually goes out on Labor Day weekend. I just love FALL and the activities that come with this blessed season!
I love simple DIYs to do with kids with a Fall theme. It just makes me smile and smile some more!
Thank you again, for reading this blog! My heart just gets overwhelmed by all the sweet people that I have met through it.
Do you get a new perspective each season?
