Shoes Shoes and More Shoes

October 22, 2008 Lana

Ever have the problem, everyone leaving their shoes at the front door?
My friend Gina had the greatest idea…

A SHOE BASKET!

Shoe Basket ilovemy5kids

[wpsr_pinterest]

I don’t make my children take their shoes to their room every time,
they just leave them in the basket.
In fact, it is my 4 year old princess’ job to collect the shoes that fall out and put them back in the basket.

Every now and then we have to take them all out and only one pair for each person is allowed in the basket. All others must return to their respectful closet.

It is too hard for this mommy, to play the “missing” shoe game,
when we are in a hurry to leave out the front door.

This way, they are kept together as a pair plus I don’t have to trip over the shoes, as I walk in.
{Except my hubby’s – but that is a whole other story.} 🙂

we keep a shoe shelf next to our side door for that very same purpose…great idea to have something that kids can easily use too! our little guy is just 2, so he’s not doing a whole lot of that on his own just yet…thanks!

My three year old is the “shoe superintendent”. His job is to put all the shoes back in the shoe closet! Thanks for the great tip!

We got a cabinet for ours – dh gets a drawer, I’ve got one, and the kids share one. Come home – shoes in the drawer. What a difference it’s made!
