I took this picture of this mockingbird, who was on our rooftop the other day. It is our state bird. (I’m not sure why.) They are mean birds and even attack dogs, I have seen them do it. They are pretty in their own sort of way.
One flew into our patio door the other day and knocked himself out. My hubby left him there for a while. He finally was going to dispose of it and got a trash bag. He opened the door and the bird jumped up and flew away. I wonder if he saw himself in the reflection and tried to attack himself. My husband was delighted he did not have to dispose of the bird.
Every time I see a bird, I am reminded of this scripture:
Luke 12:24
Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
Know you are loved by the God of wonders beyond our galaxy, who is rich in mercy and abounding in love.
The Real Me! says
Hi there!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment. It’s nice to meet you.
We have mockingbirds all over the place here in Florida. We actually saw one sacrifice itself to save it’s baby from a hawk. It was pretty sad to watch. Loved the verse at the bottom.
Please stop by any time. I look forward to getting to know you better.
Blessings,
Kim
