no room at the inn

No Room at the Inn is part of The Hungry Planet Bible Project.

I received no room at the inn back in the fall of 2009.  I opened it and starting watching it but I had to put it up and put off writing a review until now.

The CD that came in the package is a reading of the Christmas story, Luke 1-2:20.  The reading is just that – reading.  There are no bells and whistles.  It was dull and done with a monotone.  It made me sad because the Word is so powerful and is an exciting story!  My son even walked in the room and mentioned that the people reading, sound like they just woke up and were really tired.  It is read by people who either were or had been homeless.  I just didn’t see the meaning of having them read it.

The DVD

It is a documentary that explains the Hungry Bible Project.  They explain about the homeless population, how 90 percent are women and children and it is not their choice or desire.  They state that only 10 percent are chronic homeless.

It has testimonies of ladies and families how they overcame by the being homeless and finding more than just a roof over their head.

I had a hard time watching the DVD.  I love ministry but this was just not that interesting.  However, the ministry of helping the poor and needy is very interesting.  I just wish that this had been done in another manner that was not bland.

Again, it took me a long time to write this review because I really want to write “happy” reviews but they did ask for my honest opinion.

Note:  I was sent complimentary copy for review purposes only.  This review has not been monetarily compensated.  The review was my honest opinion and views and not influenced by the sponsor in any way.

Blessings to you!!!  You are loved!!!
