When I first met my hubs – I had no idea he would introduce me to a New world. He looked normal. He spoke normal. He ate chili with possible cinnamon and chocolate in it?
He didn’t know it at the time. He just liked it. And I’ll never forget that 4th of July weekend – where I tried it for the first time.
YUCK! This is not TEXAS chili. It is not thick but runny and served over thin spaghetti or over small hot dogs.
13 years later, I love it. My kids love it too. So when we are in the Cincinnati area this is a MUST stop.
They serve you a bowl of oyster crackers. And it comes a few ways…let me educate you.
Cheese Coney: Skyline’s classic Cheese Coney is a specially-made hot dog in a steamed bun, with mustard, covered with our original, secret-recipe chili, diced onions and a mound of shredded cheddar cheese.
3-Way Chili: Our signature dish…steaming spaghetti, covered with our original, secret-recipe chili and topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese.
4-Way Chili: A 3-Way with diced onions or red beans.
5-Way Chili: A 3-Way with diced onions and red beans.
Chili Spaghetti: Steaming spaghetti covered with our original, secret-recipe chili. With diced onions or red beans
When you order:
You say if you want a hot dog with chili and cheese… – “I’d like a 3-way.”
I know it sounds easy…but I ALWAYS confuse the waitress. It is a gift.
According to the back of the menu and their website, Skyline was created by a Nicholas Lambrinides, a man who loved to watch his mother and grandmother prepared authentic Greek dishes in Kastoria, Greece.
He pursued the American dream and opened a restaurant overlooking the “skyline” of Cincinnati.
I’m not sure who was the original inventor of the infamous Cincinnati chili (since there are so many other chili parlors in the area as well) but it is truly worth trying, at least twice.
Have you ever had this? What is your favorite Greek Meal?
Blessings to you! You are loved!!!

LOL! You all are too funny. Just for the record (since I am almost a Cincinnatian), when you are ordering a hot dog with chili and cheese, you are technically ordering a cheese coney. The 3-way is the spaghetti with chili and cheese ;).
I never realized it was a greek restaurant, but that makes sense considering the greek salads and other items on the menu!
Ms. Diva says
It’s Greek? Cause that’s how I serve spagetti here at Chez Max!!! Who knew I was secretly Greek? 🙂
