From the Publisher:
Twelve years ago, forensic anthropologist Jamie Cash survived a brutal kidnapping, torture, and rape. After years of therapy, she has made a life for herself—though one that is haunted by memories of her terrifying past.
She finally lets herself get close to a man, FBI agent Dakota Richards, when signs start appearing that point to one frightening fact—her attacker is back and ready to finish the job he started all those year ago. Can she escape his grasp a second time? And will she ever be able to let down her guard enough to find true love?
Filled with heart-stopping suspense, gritty realism, and a touch of romance, Don’t Look Back is the second book in the Women of Justice series.
Readers will be hooked from the beginning, finding that once you are in Lynette Eason’s world, you’re trapped until you turn the very last page.
My Review:
This is the 2nd book in the Women of Justice Series. What I like about it – is it can be read alone without reading the first one. In fact, I read the first one and couldn’t remember much about it so the author filled in the blanks for me.
I will say – I couldn’t read this book at night. It made my heart rate skyrocket.
This is not a book I would recommend for the young at all. It did have content that was dark and vile. In fact, I have a hard time recommending this book. It left images in my mind – that are just heart wrenching.
As a Christian, I want to think on things that are pure, undefiled, good and pure. I know things happen like this in “real” life but reading it for enjoyment is not my cup of tea.
I will say, I probably would like it as a movie. Maybe because I know it will be over in an hour and half. Reading the book in my time frame – took longer and thus I was able to ponder and think more about it.
The relationships within the book were believable. I was kind of sad to not see more of the Lord speaking to Dakota and seeing him pray by himself.
I will say the author baits you – even with the 3rd book – it’s on it’s way! I really like the author and the way she writes – just wish there had not been so much evil.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
