Preparing for Guests and getting help from kids

October 9, 2010 Lana

LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 02: Disney characters,

“Be our guest, be our guest put our magic to the test” is my song as I’m cleaning house.

I’ve been child-sitting for some sweet friends “who went to Boston in the FALL.”  (That is a Veggie Tale song – that never gets old in our house.)  So, guess what – ALL 7 kids are cleaning with me!  They love it! (Well, I love it- they pretend to love it!)

Here is a simple tip to get help from kids:

Yell “Surf’s UP!” and that is code for SPEED CLEAN!  They run to clean wherever for 10 minutes!  It is organized chaos!  The timer can be such a useful tool!
I’m also about to do some major Fall Cleaning.  I love this time of year and I need to do some serious purging of the closets and garage!  Especially before Christmas shows up and you have even more stuff!

So while I’m doing this all next week:

There will be some awesome Guest Posts!  I’m so excited about who is guest appearing on my lil’ blog!
Oh, you will be encouraged and inspired!  I can hardly wait myself!
So, if you don’t hear from me in the next few weeks…the big bad monster who lives under my childrens’ beds may have gotten me!  Don’t worry – Monsters are scared of being clean and I will just spray them some super duper homemade cleaner!

One more thang:

I appreciate all my readers – I’m simply amazed of how many people visit my blog.  I love the encouragement that you have given me – I pray that this blog truly encourages you as well!  Thank you so much for coming back and reading about our crazy life!  To God be the Glory!

Okay, Just One More Thang…

It is my lil’ Brother’s Birthday today!  The big 3-0!
I just love him to pieces…I love all my siblings to pieces!

I’m so thankful to be their eldest sibling and therefore have all the wisdom in the family.  (Just joking!  Although, I do have all the gray hair!)

Happy Birthday…and I’m sorry I begged Mom to take you back to the hospital when you were born!  I really do love you, really!Brother

Blessings to you!  You are so loved!

I hope you get lots and lots and lots done. If you conquer those monsters under the beds and in the closets….you will be my new hero. Lisa~

May the LORD bless you and keep you; May the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May He turn His face toward you and give you peace. Feel free to leave a comment - we LOVE to hear your thoughts! ~Blessings to you!~ ~You are so loved!~ ~Lana (Like Banana)~
