I was talking to my Mom on the phone the other day. I had called her to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day – early!
I always try to be the first one to wish her Happy Mother’s Day – it makes me feel better as the first born and being a great example to all my little siblings.
(HA! It is really a race to see who can win the most brownie points. My siblings LURVE that I’m their BIG sister! Well, they love that I live 9 hours away.)
She was telling her friend (while I was on the phone with her) about the card my brother and I got her one year. (I had forgotten about it.)
We gave her
a beautiful Mother’s Day card.
It still is her most favorite card of all time. It came from the heart. My brother and I will spend hours looking for the most perfect card for the recipient.
It was just…so us.
But- it wasn’t signed.
We forgot or just didn’t sign it. Who knows? Who cares?
Well, Mom did.
I don’t think we even sealed it.
It is the thought that should have mattered. Let me tell you…it brought laughs. It still brings laughs.
I love to hear my Mom laugh. I like to make her cry too. I’m a bad child. (Seriously, I meant tears of joy!)
So, what are you getting your Mom this Mother’s Day? If you don’t like Mother’s Day or never had children…how about that special woman in your life? There are plenty of ladies you could bless…even with a blank card.
H-E-B sent me this awesome Mother’s Day basket. It is called Bloom! My hubby took credit for it when it arrived the other day – because it was just that awesome!
The contents: (No drooling allowed!)
- Gucci by Gucci Perfume
- Salon Board
- Lip Gloss
- Flower Ring
- NYX Bronzing Powder
- Leopard Make-up Bag
- Cosmetic Sponges
- Ultra Fine Point Tweezers
- Flower Scarf
- Mom’s Day 2 Pack DVDs

- AND AN UN-SIGNED CARD (Guess where that is going?!?)
Are you drooling? Stop that! It is un-lady like! (Me too when I first saw it!)
Yeah, I love H-E-B! I know not everyone has one like we do. I’m sorry. You should move to Texas, where it doesn’t snow.
Seriously, this basket would probably make any one happy.
What the Mom doesn’t like – she could pass on to her daughters.
(I love that about my MOM! She loves giving my sister and I her hand-me-downs. Neither one of us ever object! We like our Mom’s tastes! Well, except in perfume and the non-sweet tea. Sorry, Mom – I’m being truthful!)
Mother’s Day is special to me! Not even because I’m a Mom. I just like to bless other ladies. Some of which – have never been married or had children. What a special day of blessing the sweet ladies in your life that have made a difference!
