UPDATE: Winner has been chosen!
Thanks for entering!
I used to beg – I mean BEG my grandparents to tell me how they fell in love.
I loved how my Grandma didn’t like my Grandpa.
She would tell him she would be in one place – then go visit her sister.
She would tell him she would be in one place – then go visit her sister.
He would find out and go to her sister’s house.
Eventually, they fell in love and got married.
I loved how they corrected each other and winked when they thought I wasn’t looking.
I love reading the Bible when Jesus tells me stories.
He calls them parables. It just makes me fall in love with Him all over again. His stories are made to make even the simple minded understand them. Some days being a Mom – I just need simple. How about you?
Liz Curtis Higgs also has a book called the The Pine Tree Parable for young ones.
It is about a great sacrifice that brings great joy.
Although, it is a Christmas tale – it still is a wonderful asset to anyone’s personal library.
It is a perfect little book for a young and old child alike. My kids wanted me to read it again and again.
This is one book that is staying on my shelf for my future Grandchildren.
Guess what?!?
Since I’m a

My favorites were the Little House on the Prairie series. Now we’re going through them with our four kids.

My favorite book to read out loud to kids is The Piggy in The Puddle. Because I love doing all characters in different voices. The kids love it. I also love Goodnight Moon.

Currently, I love “A Good and Perfect Gift” by Amy Julia Becker. As far as kids’ books are concerned, the kids and I have enjoyed “Rikki Tikki Tavi” recently. We read a lot – and I have a lot of books that I re-read, but these are two books that are in the mix right now. 🙂

My grandparents are the most loving people that I know, both to me and to everyone else. My grandma is gone now, but I will remember how they were ALWAYS holding hands when they walked, even after over 50 years of marriage.

As a kid I loved Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books, many of them were gifts from my yard-sale-loving Grammy!

One of my favorite children’s story series was Secret Seven by Enid Blyton. I enjoy reading an ensemble cast and how they interact, while staying true to their personalities.
