Playing Audio from computer to Blu-Ray

August 22, 2012 Lana

Just figured out how to:
Play audio from my computer to my Blu-ray Player (WIRELESSLY).

{Happy Dance!!!}

Let’s just say…this homeschooling Mommy now can play audio-books that have been downloaded to my computer all through the house and WILL accomplish more in my day.

{BIG SMILE!}

Now playing:

The Travel of Ulysses – It goes great with the study of Ancient Greece.  (If you are using My Father’s World, it is a great accompanying in the Creation to Greeks study.)

If you are unsure what a Blu-Ray player is (like I was a year ago) – it is a DVD player that has surround speakers and can hook up to a wireless router connecting computers or televisions to it.  (It probably does other things, I haven’t figured out yet.)  I’ll let you know if it folds clothes – now that would make my whole year!

We found an open box at Best Buy for a better deal. It was a combination Father’s Day and Valentine’s Gift.  At the time, I thought it was a bit much for our non-tech family. But now, I’m certain – it is worth the investment! (Plus, if hubby and I want to watch a movie after the kids go to bed – the rest of the house doesn’t have to listen to it because we don’t turn up the t.v. as loud.)

It also serves as our radio when we hook it up to our ROKU.  We love Pandora stations.

(Again, we are really not a tech-family.)  This was a gift but one that I would purchase now that I have used it.

It makes streaming to the television so much faster.  (Again, all wireless.  It hooks up to your router that is plugged into your internet.)  Some people use their Nintendo Wii but this is faster streaming without as many hook-ups.  Plus, it has tons of channels not available anywhere else.  You can even add private channels.  (Okay, my inner geek is totally coming out.)

If anything maybe this post gives you ideas for future Christmas presents! (If you want to use any of the Amazon links to make purchases – I get partial revenue.  Hint!  Hint!)

Thank you for indulging in my geeky-kind-of-post.

Blessings to you!  You are loved!
