We are in on a fun road trip with kids to the Permian Basin.
(My hubby is working – we just get to tag along and see fun stuff.)
Have you ever read Friday Night Lights? A high school football story. It has been years since I read it…but I remembered it was one of those books that explained a lot about the favorite sport of Texas. This is that area that is mentioned in that book. Later they made a television series about it.
One of our first stops was to see Old Buffalo Wallow. Our road trips are sometimes just things that we find by happenstance. This was one of those things.
It was a duck pond that had a neat trail that went around it. Great for those with kids who need to run off some energy. Plus, it had the neatest statues all around it. The kids really did enjoy it, I just wished I had wore tennis shoes and not flip-flops.
It is right in the middle of the city…but offers some peace from the hustle and bustle.
This area is rich in oil. In fact, all the hotels are full – we barely got a room.
Last night, we went to eat at Logan’s Roadhouse. A man came up to our table…it was a sweet old friend from school. It almost made me cry. The Lord is so neat to put little treasures in our path. He was visiting the area on business too. What are the chances that we would have been in the same area so far away from both of our homes and in the same restaurant?
I’m just constantly reminded how much the Lord loves us!
In fact, if you follow us on our road trip, we are on Twitter or Instagram, we are using the hashtag #RoadTrip5Kids for all of our pictures.
Can’t wait to blog about our “Bat Mobile”.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
