Bridge to nowhere in Texas
We have all heard about the bridge to nowhere in Alaska, but have you heard about the one in Texas?
We came upon it a few years ago…
It is between Beeville and Goliad on Highway 59 over the Medio Creek.
I love when you pass it it just looks like it is just up there all by itself.
It takes suspension bridge to a whole new meaning.
Something about bridges just make me happy. Maybe because I know they take years of sacrifice to make or men and women risked their lives to make other lives safer.
Maybe because I see my Savior when I look at a bridge. He bridges the gap.
We made a bridge in my Physics class in high school. It was made out of spaghetti noodles.
To get an A, it had to hold a little Hot Wheel Toy Car.
It was harder than you think.
I remember painting it a maroon color. That to me was the best part of the project, making it pretty.
However, I learned so much making those bridges.
I can’t wait for my children to have a desire to build and design a bridge. What a fun project!
This entire road is full of history. A main town used to be established on this creek. It is now gone. So many memories just washed away. So thankful history spurs on learning opportunities – even building bridges.
Have you ever seen The Tacoma Narrows Bridge that collapsed because of high wind? The wind got over 40 miles per hour and it twisted, curled up and collapsed. Thankfully, there was no loss of human life.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
