Trapped by Irene Hannon Book Review
From the publisher:
When Laura Griffith’s sixteen-year-old sister disappears on a frigid February day, leaving only a brief note behind, Laura resolves to do whatever it takes to track down the runaway teen. That includes recruiting ATF agent turned private investigator James Devlin to help. Dev knows time is of the essence with runaways–just forty-eight hours can mean the difference between recovery and ruin.
But the deeper he and Laura dig, the more Dev begins to suspect that something sinister is at work in the girl’s disappearance. And in the icy winter weather, the trail is going cold . . .
In her latest thrilling read, queen of romantic suspense Irene Hannon outdoes herself with a fast-paced tale of fear, deception, and just the right dose of romance.
My Review:
I was so excited to read another novel by Irene Hannon. In the past, I have really enjoyed her series.
This one however was a little too dark for me. It reminded me of an episode of Criminal Minds. So if you are a fan of that type of fiction, you will probably like this book.
The author did capture a sense of suspense and made me want to finish the book to see what happened. I was more than tempted to just flip to the back of the book just to get to the ending not because it was too long just because I don’t appreciate this type of morbid mind set that the “bad man” had.
I understand that some would enjoy this book. It even had a moment when people came to the Lord, as I would expect when someone is held captive. I just don’t think this is a book that I could categorize as enjoyment. It was vile and sick. I could not in my right mind, tell anyone it was for pleasure reading.
This is not the kind of book that I could recommend for the family or for “immature eyes.”
Blessings to you! You are loved!
