Last night we got to witness a beautiful small wedding in a quaint little town in a cozy log house.
I love December weddings.
If you ever get married in December…don’t feel pressured but I want an invite.
I LOVE December weddings!
And October weddings.
Isn’t it funny that my husband and I got married in September?
He probably wouldn’t appreciate it but maybe we should have a do over.
Just kidding.
I just want to go on the honeymoon, again. <- Not kidding.
Ahem.
Back to the wedding…
Who’s wedding did we attend?
My Dad’s.
Not many daughters get to attend their Dad’s wedding.
Let me just say, this one I was more than happy to attend.
He has a new life. It is precious to see how the Lord is working in him.
It was also so good to see some old and make new friends.
The Bride was beautiful and full of joy. She is so kind and full of love. We are excited for their relationship.
The Groom was decked out in a tux and enjoying every minute of his beautiful bride.
This is my precious precious Aunt and my daughter. She lives very close to us and just radiates God’s love. My kids and husband adore her and my Uncle. I’m hoping they move into our neighborhood very soon!
And can I just rant just a little?
I love kids at weddings.
At least my kids and nephews.
They can easily steal the show.
They made me laugh.
I had this guy in my lap as the wedding procession was going on and this was our conversation.
“Do you like weddings?”
“No.””Me either. Are you going to get married?” “No.”
Then we were given a look by a responsible adult and had to hush.
Later, we continued in our conversation after he found the candy bar.
“Do you like weddings now?”
Well…he couldn’t answer because he was hanging from the rafters from a sugar rush.
His Dad told me I was to handle him (like I was the one who gave him ALL the candy) and he would handle my 5 kids plus his other two.
Haha! Don’t overestimate a favorite aunt!
That boy did whatever I told him.
“How did you get him to do that?” asked my naive little brother.
I promised him he could come to my house before Christmas.
Favorite Aunt Privilege Rule.
If you are an Aunt – learn that rule.
Become a SUPER Aunt. And Love those nephews and nieces! They need you!
The wedding ended with a wonderful toast given by brother to my Dad. I am not sure anyone had a dry eye in the place. I love when men speak with love.
My daughter caught my sweet niece dancing. Made me laugh.
Then we had to leave for our 3 hour trek home.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
