This series, started out just for me. A way to have a grateful heart.
It is not disappointing.
Seriously, when I start looking for little blessings they just turn into HUGE blessings.
My morning started out as usual. Waking up.
Husband bringing me coffee to wake me up. (I know, I am spoiled. Trust me, we spoil each other. We love our marriage and our sweet relationship.)
Then I checked my phone for messages.
In Facebook, I noticed I had a message notice.
A sweet friend sent me a gift, just because.
My love language is not gifts but this just made me giddy with delight. Not because of the gift exactly but because of this dear friend, who I just love dearly. She is not from the US and loves chai tea. She makes the most yummiest spiced tea. Every time I see a tea kettle and fine china, I think of her.
Even how we met – makes me laugh. We met in Toys-R-Us. Normally, a friendship born in Toys-R-Us does not flourish, I would think. But, God knows what He was doing!
God knew I would need a friend with a British accent, who hates the cold, loves her children, has a passion for Christ and just likes me regardless of my crazy messy life.
To that I am thankful.
THEN…
My son turned 15! Whoop!
My daughters spent the day in the kitchen making him goodies.
Including his favorite Hummingbird Cake and The Pioneer Woman’s French Breakfast Puffs.
Seriously, where are my stretchy pants?
With all of the blessings that I am naming – I like to forget the messiness of life. Like me walking too much yesterday and hurting my ankle again. Or the salad that my kids bought yesterday only to have been gross, I mean wilted beyond comprehension and none of my kids having a vegetable in their system.
I don’t want my kids to ever think that this world will be easy with no speed bumps. Quite the opposite. But, it how we meet those speed bumps is how harsh and high the car will fly. I choose to meet them with a heart of gratefulness.
Blessings to you! You are loved!
