Tonight we had a special event at our church. We were there just for a little bit. We left actually kind of early because we were going home to “settle down” before the kids all come home tomorrow.
When we passed one of our neighbors, we stopped and talked with them for a while. I actually got out and went inside for a drink of water. Then we stopped by another neighbor’s house and talked with him a while. We then decided we would get a movie, so we went to Blockbuster to rent one. We got home around 10:00 p.m.
Well, someone had been in our house. We had been burglarized. We have had things stolen in the past but never has someone broken in our home. Oh, the nerve!
I didn’t think they got anything of great importance (well, my husband’s work laptop which gets replaced) until the police left. They stole my camera. My camera! I loved this camera. It was a digital Canon Rebel. I took all my vacation photos on it and tons of other photos.
Luckily, I had forgotten to put the card back in it, so I still have that. Oh, this makes me so upset. Then I think, what if we had not stopped at our neighbors? What if we had not gone to Blockbuster?
The Lord is so faithful, I put my whole trust in Him! The camera can be replaced, but ohhhh it makes me upset that my husband saved and saved for me to finally have the one I wanted. This was not a cheap one!
Everything I own and have is the Lord’s. I have given All over to Him when I decided that He was going to be my Lord. This includes the camera. I know He has me in His hands and knows the whole picture.
What a day!

Thank the Lord He steered you toward places other than home that night! I know you must be feeling down and I’m sure violated…but you and your family are safe. Time to get a dog? Mine are small, but they hear everything and bark like mad.

I am so sorry that this has happened to you and your family. We were burglarized a couple of times when I was a kid. Yes – all the things can be replaced, but I always hated that uneasy feeling that I had for a few days. Sending a prayer for you and your family!

So glad you are covered over by the Most High, He who dwells in the secret place shall abide under the shadow of the Most High. May you see His righteousness and justice prevail, as it always does.

I’m sure glad you weren’t home when you were robbed or it could have been worse. Just this week (in Oklahoma) there have been several robberies and home invasions where people are injured just because they were home. Again, I’m glad you weren’t home when this happened. I do know how you feel about having your treasured items stolen. We need to pray that whomever took these items will be transformed.

Although I know it was devastating to come home to this, just know that it’s things like this that renew our faith in how great God is. I could tell you stories of His greatness while my husband served his first tour in Iraq. Praise him for keeping you safe.
