This week has been anything but boring, thus the reasoning I haven’t been blogging as much.
(By the way – if you happen to say the “B” word in our house – you will be getting lots of chores. My kids think this is a “real” cuss word.)

This was the newest predator to our estate. We really don’t have that many boards laying around…but critters seem to love the hiding spots.
My son is coaxing him out.
Just a note: I really believe this is the reason God gave me my sons, they handle the animals and kill insects.
(I don’t really care that much for animals and detest insects with everything in me.)
Yes, he has the animal by the tail. Yes, those are his favorite shorts. Yes, hubby, those are your flip flops (aka thongs).
{ I always wanted to say thongs in my blogging.}
That is kind of an inside joke – but I will be glad to share it with the world one day.
Any idea what this could be? I thought it was a weasel at first. But, it is a ferret. Apparently, it has been living in my neighbor’s tree.

We found a sweet home for it. It didn’t really stink but I used my zoom on my camera and stayed as far away as possible.
Lately our family seems to be a magnet for strays. I went to a park the other day and a skunk was laying in the bushes. I never saw it, and I am only partial to floral fragrances so I quickly scattered.
Did I ever tell you about seeing the rat at the grocery store?
I’m walking out and all the grocery boys are running with brooms in their hands toward me. (That is a little frightening, to say the least.) My hubby and kids are in the car watching all the action. It turns out, a rat was out in front and was being chased. Again, have I told you I really am not fond of critters? Luckily, it turned under some type patio furniture before it was upon me. Still gives me the creeps to think about it.
Well, I pray that you have a wonderful weekend! Ours is starting early!
Blessings to each of you! You are loved!

This picture of the ferret is the cutest thing. lol
However, it probably wouldn’t have seemed so cute if
it had been at my house. {smile}
Boys and critters just go together, don’t they.
Living out in the country like we do, I am very happy that I
have two sons.

I love critters & insects and think it is amazing that you have had so many close encounters! 🙂
My mother-in-law is visiting and she HATES snakes (though she’s come a long way since I entered the family – she will actually now enter the herp buildings at the zoo!). Anyway, she went with us to my daughter’s swim meet on Saturday, and guess who slithered right up under her chair… yep, a friendly little garden snake! Yes, she screamed, but only a little. And, she held her feet up. But, her husband (raised in the country) caught him by the tail and took him to a safer spot. I was proud of my mil for settling down quickly and enjoying the rest of the meet. 🙂

One of my friends’ teen daughters has a ferret and they are harmless. She has a collar and stays in her cage, but has free roam of their house when they are home. Also, it has it’s stinker removed, so no troubles there.
On another note…. The last time I ever had dinner at a Golden Corral restaurant (buffet style), my friend and I started hearing a lot of screams and all of a sudden we join in on the screaming as a large rat was running whld in there right by the food! Did you notice I said the “last time I ate there?” Ewww… gross… I haven’t been to a buffet since, other than my honeymoon cruise, since that time….
