First trip to the grocery store

First trip to the grocery store

This week has been so busy.  Every day I have put on makeup and made myself presentable to leave the house. (Not the norm, I assure you.)

This is me.  In my jammies.  This is my Saturday morning norm.  Watching my favorite Saturday morning cartoons DIY’s.  Fun Day for Mommy.

I’ve noticed the gas price in all our running errands this week.  I never notice the gas price.  It is $3.12 a gallon.  Is that pretty common?

I do know if you buy a Gift Card from HEB they will give you a 12 cent discount per gallon at the pump.

For the very first time – I sent in my eldest son to the grocery store by himself to buy a $90.00 gift card.  I could tell he was nervous but so independent.  He is a teenager but to me he is my little guy who still needs his Mom, well, until he stands up.  As I look up to him, I realize he is no longer 4 years old.  It was a huge step.  Although, I sat in the parking lot and waited with the other kids, it was a huge milestone.

I remember the first time I was sent into the store by myself.  My Grandma sent me to buy diapers for my cousin.  Let me just say – I remember thinking DIAPERS?!  Have you seen the diaper aisle?  There are trillions to choose from and needless to say, I bought the wrong ones.

A gas gift card was so much simpler. Point for this Mom.  I don’t get many points so I when I do…I’m a happy camper.

And speaking of camping…I wanted to share with you this family.

They live out in West Texas where there is rugged desert and beautiful mountains.  It truly is majestic.

This family has gone off grid except they havea blog.  They homeschool their two precious daughters.  For some reason, I’m just drawn to their life.  Not in a crazy stalker way – just living in Pioneer fashion. Their blog is called Our 180.

Also, I updated my Facebook header.  I just love blue!
