Old hymns can speak such powerful messages. I always wonder what was going on in the author’s life when he or she wrote songs. Were they having marriage problems? Did they just come to Christ and just have a need to rejoice? Did they just need to call on His name and praise Him?
Selah, is one of my most favorite music groups! Last year, at the Woman of Faith conference, we were able to see them.
I love to hear the powerful voices singing Praises to Him!
His Eye is on the Sparrow is one of those that just brings me to tears every time I hear it.
When Jesus is my portion, A constant friend is He,
His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.
I don’t know if these were sparrows. But, I do know that He watches the birds and better than that…
He watches over me. (And you!)
Oh how I love Him.
And I love being His child.
(All the above photos were taken by me on my Mom’s southern porch, such a sweet Mama Bird that was feeding her chicks. A few days later, the baby chicks flew away. Oh, I’m standing on the Promises of God with my chicks!)
Blessings to you! You are loved!
