The Desire

by Dan Walsh and Gary Smalley

The Desire (The Restoration Series Book #3): A Novel

From the publisher:

For two years, Allen and Michele have been trying to have a baby. For Michele, it has become an obsession. But Allen seems content to spend his time–and their money–saving orphans in Africa. As Michele researches their options for fertility treatments, she begins to resent Allen’s divided attention. And yet, God has a plan for Allen and Michele that they could never have imagined. All it takes to set it in motion is a change of heart . . .

With a keen eye toward the give-and-take of the marriage relationship, along with the ability to weave an engaging story, Dan Walsh and Gary Smalley show readers what it is to have godly desire and show selfless love. Fans will love this heartwarming story.

My Review:

This book is a very simple read.  It provides a story that many have walked through.  Infertility and adoption.

The characters are easily followed and the authors make you feel that you are on the journey with them.  I loved how the authors make the book real with real emotions.

This book also provides insight on how some children live in the world, having to find their own food.  This part hit home for me.  Having done mission trips to places like that, it brought back vivid memories and even horrible smells.

This book has so many difficult areas that people have to live through from infertility, giving up a child, adoption, open adoption, closed adoption, overseas adoption and even a birth mom’s view.  Nothing was off limits.

This book is definitely made for mature eyes.  It might be good for those who need a book who needs to see all the sides of adoption, a living book per se.

Blessings to you!  You are loved!
