Tyler Rose Festival
Since moving to the East Texas, we have been exploring the roads and scenery that is here.
Gorgeous Views! So many hills. Glistening Lakes.
FALL – with trees that change colors! Being in the Rio Grande Valley, we haven’t experienced this in many years. Palm trees only change colors when they die.
This past weekend, we were able to attend the Tyler Rose Festival Queen’s Tea.
Have you ever heard of the Knock-Out Rose? These were Knock-Out Dresses.
I mean KNOCK-OUT!
The Queen’s Train for her dress was over 16 feet long. The theme was Cirque De La Rose. Everything was beautiful and bursting with bold colors.
I personally love that the Queen was wearing fleur-di-lis. It made my day.
In the court were many ladies in waiting. Here is one that was popcorn. My daughter liked this one.
In the convention center was a rose show. I had asked my friend a question and this sweet lady overheard our conversation. It turns out she was one of the Rose Judges that had come in from Georgia.
I had no idea there was so much information about roses and judging is very serious business.
This beautiful judge taught me more about roses than I could have learned reading any book. I was so grateful for her listening to my 20/20 reporter inquisitiveness.
Tyler is known for their roses. It is a big business. Next time you are shopping for roses, check and see if they come from Tyler, Texas. They probably do.
Again, I love this area! I never want to move!
Blessings to you! You are loved!
