I love Valentine’s Day.
My Dad used to always give me the most thoughtful Hallmark cards and little gifts when I was little. I can’t tell you what that did for me, it made me smile especially when he couldn’t say those words out loud. We were not that close but I could always count on those cards or some small sweet gift on that special day.
I also thought about my husband. He makes me feel special every single day. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in crime and best friend. He spoils me rotten. My sisters-in-law are always jealous of how he treats me like a queen.
But, something I just adore about him is how he treats our daughters. Like true Princesses. They have such a sweet relationship and the bar is set very high for their future spouse.
So here is a list that I thought could help Dads (or Moms) when shopping for the little Valentines.
Any links can be affiliates meaning if you buy something I might get some pennies.
- Sunglasses because she is cool. Plus, there are so many options, from Frozen Fans, or maybe a future pilot aviators would work.
- Sticker books if you have little ones. Who doesn’t love a great Sticker Book about Princesses? Not to mention it could help handwriting skills.
- Personalized Princess Pillow Case – I found this on Etsy. I thought they were darling. Another option is to find one with a scripture or LOVE so they will know they are truly loved and can sleep on it.
- Baseball Tickets or other “sports” tickets, even Harlem Globetrotters. A date to look forward to is better if it is something you will both enjoy! A daughter date is awesome when it is planned in advance and she sees your excitement! Developing a common bond can be life changing when started early.
- EOS Lip Balm – because she is sweet! Or maybe lip gloss with a little sparkle.
- Fishing Pole and a promise of a fishing date.
- I love this idea, a charm bracelet. Something that will grow every year. Plus, it is something she can pass on to her daughter.
- A gift card to Lowes or Home Depot. A stipulation is it can only be used on flowers for an adorable Fairy Garden.
- Her Favorite Color Basket.
Let’s say her favorite color is yellow.
Fill a yellow gift bag full of yellow items i.e. Juicy Fruit Gum, Yellow Umbrella, or Yellow Rubber Boots, because who doesn’t like splashing in the rain?
Or maybe her favorite color is pink.
A bag filled with a pink Princess hot chocolate mug, Pink Fingernail Polish, Pink Wilson Football, and maybe Pink Bunny Slippers.
If you don’t have a Valentine…
I know Valentine’s Day can be a sad day if you don’t have a Valentine or anyone who shows you love. I would suggest showing others love this day. Instead of the “me, me, me attitude” – give to others.
- Babysit for a couple who needs a date, for free.
- Make cookies for the secretary, postman, who has made your life easier this year.
- Pass out roses to people at the DPS office. (Most of those people are not happy.)
- Make out a bucket list – and do three things before next Valentine’s Day.
- Find a recent widower and send her a gift.
I pray this is the best day for you and yours!
Blessings to you! You are loved!

Great ideas, Lana. My girls love Eos lip gloss, too. Home Depot gift cards would sure make the biggest girl (me!) in our house happy! I like the way you think!!
