Louisville – now that is a TEXAS size BAT

February 5, 2009 Lana

…we stopped at so many places… One of the places was Louisville, Kentucky. Home of the world’s LARGEST bat. One of my objectives of homeschooling is to stop at everything that is the World’s Largest. (Must be a Texas’ thang.) {My spell check suggested THONG for thang. No, Mr. Spellchecker, it’s THANG.} It was COLD and we had not expected the change in temperature this quickly. So, the baby had to be wrapped in his blanket because we couldn’t find…

Menu – Jan. 12, 2009

January 11, 2009 Lana

…st fine. I have a recipe box (it holds 4×6 index cards) that I don’t leave home without. One of my hobbies is to read recipe books. I love finding that super easy recipe with very few ingredients. I would find that I couldn’t remember where I put the recipe that was on my menu. So, now I write the recipe down and it goes in the recipe box. Fleur-Di-Lis

January 9, 2009 Lana

I just love Fleur-Di-Lis! In every room of our home, I’m trying to incorporate it somehow. That is why New Orleans’ football team the “Saints” have it on their football helmet and field. Isn’t that cool? Who knew, watching football, you could learn about design? (BTW – I’m not a Saints fan. I’m actually…

About Me and What this blog is About

January 3, 2009 Lana

Life as a home educator, mother, wife, frugal personal shopper, friend, with 5 kids, who have ups and downs as well as dirt on the ceiling fans. We serve the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior as He gives us so much undeserved grace. I pray that this blog will encourage as well as be an enlightened piece of history for my children because they will not have completed baby books when they get married. Back in the groove

December 8, 2008 Lana

I’m trying to get back in the groove. We got home last night after traveling 3034 miles plus with 5 children, one husband, one grandma and no leg room, I’m a little tired. My parents kept 4 of my 5 children, what a precious gift! We will get back in the car on Saturday and pick them up. (Another 7 hours in the car.) Until then I have so much to do. I still have to put up my fall decor and then find my Christmas stash. It is going to be so simple…
