She is one special lady.
Usually my goal for her birthday is to get her something that will make her cry.
(I know I’m sick that I like to watch my mom cry but hey gotta get my kicks somewhere.) Hopefully, this will do it.

My mom and I are a lot alike. We are both headstrong, opinionated, direct, caring, firstborn, love to dance, get the same jokes as well as not get the same jokes.
My mom and I also are really quick to get on one another’s nerves, (she would also admit this so I have no fear in typing it.) I think it is because we are so much alike. We don’t even have to wonder what the other is thinking, for the most part. Our husbands just laugh. They know it.
My mom is the first person I usually call (well…after my sister) with a true crisis. In fact, a lot of people call her because she is dependable and ready at a moment’s notice. She wants what is best for people in the long run. She has been though many trials and has a lot of wisdom. I would daresay, she is a Proverbs 31 woman.
I’m not saying she is perfect, i.e. she’s not that great of a 42 partner, doesn’t like fiction books, has no idea how to blog, and still thinks my brother is a baby (he’s 28 this year!) Oh, did I mention, she whines and complains every time I get on to my children (her precious never-do-anything-wrong grandchildren), I mean really, what kind of Mom does that? 🙂
But, all that kidding aside, I really put my mom in the top ten favorite people in my life. I really love and appreciate her. I pray you have a wonderful birthday Mom!
(And if you are one of my siblings, I’m not sucking up!)
